Fleetwood Town have handed Nathan Pond, their longest-serving player, the captaincy for the upcoming season.
The 30-year-old defender joined in 2003 when they were playing in North West Counties League First Division and has seen six promotions since then.
He signed a new one-year deal in May after 29 appearances last term.
"I have tried to lead by example every day and I am over the moon to be the new Fleetwood Town captain," he told the club website.
Midfielder Antoni Sarcevic has been appointed the new Cod Army vice-captain.
