Burton Albion midfielder Kelvin Maynard has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury suffered in the pre-season game against Derby County.
The 28-year-old damaged his anterior cruciate ligament in the closing stages of the 3-1 defeat on Saturday.
Maynard was signed on a short-term deal by fellow Dutchman Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink last November.
"We have lost Kelvin for the year so will have to have a look in that area," Hasselbaink told BBC Radio Derby.
"He has done really well in pre-season and is fit. It is a pity but we have to move on."
Maynard signed a new contract in with the League One newcomers in July despite injury restricting him to 10 appearances last term.
