Notts County have made their 18th summer signing by bringing in Dutch defender Civard Sprockel.
The 32-year-old centre-back, who has recently been playing in Cyprus for Othellos Athienou, has agreed a one-year contract with the League Two club.
He began his career with Dutch side Feyenoord before spells with clubs including Excelsior and Vitesse Arnhem.
"We need length at the back and people from a higher level," manager Ricardo Moniz told BBC Radio Nottingham.
"He has a good pedigree, I've known him since he was a kid.
"He was in teams with Robin Van Persie, that generation, but Van Persie reached the top, a few players didn't reach the top."
County start the new season away at Stevenage on Saturday.
