Reading v Leeds
Jordan Obita of Reading and Sam Byram of Leeds United battle for the ball

Reading and Leeds played out a drab goalless draw at the Madejski Stadium.

In a first half of few chances, Leeds' Stuart Dallas came close to opening the scoring but his 20-yard effort failed to trouble keeper Jonathan Bond.

In the 21st minute of the match all of the ground stood to applaud Royals academy manager Eamonn Dolan, who is undergoing a course of chemotherapy.

Both sides hit the side-netting in the second half - Chris Wood for Leeds and Orlando Sa for Reading.

New Zealand international Wood also came close late on as his turn and volley hit the roof of the net, before in injury-time Jordan Obita's free-kick was well kept out by Leeds keeper Marco Silvestri.

But the match will mostly be remembered for a moment when the 21,581 in the stadium gave a standing ovation to Dolan, whose treatment comes after an operation to remove a tumour from his bladder.

The point is Reading's first of the season, but they have failed to win a league game at the Madejski Stadium since March.

Meanwhile, Uwe Rosler's Leeds side have drawn their opening two Championship matches this term.
