Holders Glasgow City defeated Aberdeen 4-1 in the Scottish Cup third round.

First half goals by Jo Love and Abbi Grant were added to after the break by Erin Cuthbert and Leanne Ross, before Aberdeen got a consolation strike from captain Rachael Small.

High-flying Hibs defeated Forfar 5-0 as they continued their impressive season.

Motherwell had to come from 3-0 down to win 4-3 against Glasgow Girls, who had Charmaine McGuire taken to hospital with a suspected broken collarbone.

Celtic, Rangers, Rangers (SWFL), Cumbernauld Colts and Kilmarnock all progressed through to the quarter-final in their ties.

Next weekend is the eagerly anticipated top-of-the-table match between undefeated pair Glasgow City and Hibernian Ladies.

City manager Scott Booth said: "I am pleased with certain parts of today's performance and the result overall was really good.

"It is difficult to come to Aberdeen and dominate the ball and create chances.

"Credit to Aberdeen, even after we went 4-0 up, they hit us with a goal which is the first goal we have lost since I came to the club, so I am a little disappointed, but of course that is the standards we are trying to reach.

"I am delighted we are through to the next round and getting four goals was great."
