Doncaster Rovers Belles will treat their six remaining league games this season like "cup finals" to try to ensure promotion, says Sue Smith.

Winger Smith, 35, scored the fifth goal for her side as the won 5-0 at Watford on Sunday to remain two points clear at the top of Women's Super League Two.

The Belles missed out on promotion to WSL 1 by two points last term.

"We're treating every game as a cup final," Smith told BBC sport. "We need to make sure we're completely focused."

Former England international Smith continued: "I think last year we maybe took a few games for granted, so we've making sure we are completely prepared."

So far this season, Doncaster have conceded just nine goals in 12 league games and scored 38. In their past three WSL games alone, they have netted 15 goals.

Doncaster manager Glenn Harris reiterated Smith's 'cup final' message.

"We now know everything is in our hands. We know we have some tough games to come," Harris said.

"We've said to the girls all the way from the second half of the season, every remaining game is a cup final."
