Dunfermline brushed aside 10-man Forfar at Station Park to reach the third round of the Petrofac Training Cup.

The contest turned on 31 minutes when Kevin Nicoll was sent off for a last-man tackle on Michael Moffat, who converted the resulting spot-kick.

The visitors doubled their lead when Faissal El-Bakhtaoui tucked in Michael Paton's cross from close range.

Josh Falkingham cracked a shot against the post before Moffat turned in Ryan Williamson's cross from 12 yards.

El-Bakhtaoui now has nine goals in five appearances this season.
