Doncaster and Southend were left searching for their first wins of the season after playing out an uneventful goalless draw at the Keepmoat Stadium.
A poor first half saw David Worrall's placed effort for Southend easily saved by Thorsten Stuckmann and Harry Forrester's strike blocked for Rovers.
The game livened up slightly after the break as Stuckmann tipped over Michael Timlin's fierce strike.
Curtis Main almost won it for Doncaster but could not get his shot away.
Paul Dickov's Rovers have now drawn all three of their League One games this season, while Southend have drawn two and lost one.
