Fabien Robert's third goal in as many games was enough to earn Swindon Town victory at Southend in League One.
The visitors came the closest in the first half when Nathan Byrne's strike was parried away by Daniel Bentley.
Southend twice went close when an unmarked Jack Payne fired wide from 12 yards before Noel Hunt failed to finish Ben Coker's cross from four yards.
Robert capitalised when he latched on to Byrne's throughball and finished past Bentley with his left foot.
