Guiseley 0-4 Aldershot Town

Aldershot scored twice in each half at Guiseley to earn their first National League victory of the season.

Richard Brodie opened the scoring at Nethermoor Park on 22 minutes after converting Jim Stevenson's lay-off.

Stevenson then got the second himself with a tap-in after Rhys Browne's low shot was parried.

Cheye Alexander finished off a solo run to make it 3-0 before Brodie got his second 10 minutes from time after evading a challenge to finish coolly.

Promoted Guiseley had conceded just two goals in their opening four games at this level, but had that number tripled inside an hour of football.

Aldershot Town boss Barry Smith told BBC Surrey:

"It was a good overall performance but we do need consistency in the performances so I am not getting carried away. In fairness to the boys, everything clicked together. We've seen some goals but also some good defending.

"Our strikers are capable of that and on another day Matthew Barnes-Homer gets a goal. He's done excellently up to now but we feel perhaps he's a bit jaded after Tuesday. But Dan Walker and Richard Brodie have stepped up to the plate.

"Cheye Alexander has done excellently for us defensively. We know he's capable and he has pace and ability to drive at players. I don't think he knew what to do, so he put it in the back of the net."
