Queens Park Rangers 1-2 Carlisle United

Carlisle's Jason Kennedy
Midfielder Jason Kennedy joined Carlisle earlier this year following a successful loan spell

Jason Kennedy scored a late winner as League Two Carlisle United shocked QPR and set up a League Cup trip to face Liverpool.

Derek Asamoah put the visitors ahead in the first half, firing home after clever work from Antony Sweeney.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, who scored against Yeovil in the first round, levelled for the Championship hosts from the edge of the area just three minutes later.

But Kennedy, on as a substitute, tapped in the winner with 11 minutes left.

Carlisle, without a league win so far this season, are now into the third round for only the third time in 39 years - in the process condemning QPR to an eighth defeat in 11 seasons by lower-league opposition in the League Cup.
