Shrewsbury Town 0-1 Burton Albion

Mark Duffy
Mark Duffy scored his first goal for Burton since joining on loan from Birmingham City

Mark Duffy's last-minute winner moved Burton up to third place in League One with victory at Shrewsbury.

Duffy got on the end of substitute Jerome Binnom-Williams' left-wing cross to get newly-promoted Burton's third successive league win.

The Brewers were second best for long spells and Shrewsbury's Junior Brown hit the bar and post in the first half.

Liam Lawrence, James Collins, Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Ryan Woods all had chances for Town before Duffy struck.

Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"It's always tough to lose a game in that manner. We are in a tough place at the minute and things aren't going for us - so you have to pick yourself up and move on.

"The players kept coming and kept trying, we hit the post and the bar, but we never took our chances today. It is very harsh to come away from this game with nothing. They came here, counted their blessings and come away with three points.

"We have to do better, especially at that time in the game. It is a real blow to lose a game at that stage. But we will get through this, we have to show character and pull through.

"This is when you have to show character, the good times are easy and everyone celebrates that. But these times are hard, and I'll be ready to come back on Monday and we have to move on from this game very quickly."
