Fleetwood Town striker Jamille Matt says being a footballer is a "wonderful job" after scoring his first goal in 17 months following a serious injury.
"I didn't know how to celebrate or what to do when I scored," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"There's nothing worse than being injured for 12 months."
He added: "Hopefully I'll put that behind me and try to look forward to the future and score more goals."
Matt, who signed from Kidderminster Harriers for a club record fee in 2013, revealed a more philosophical outlook on football after his injury.
"The lads probably think I'm a broken record but I go on at them all the time when they moan about training," he added.
"It's a wonderful job we've got playing football. With all the injuries you get we've got to enjoy it all we can."
