Mansfield Town have agreed a new "incentive-based" contract with winger Matty Blair following his recovery from a serious knee injury.
The 26-year-old joined the Stags from Fleetwood in the January transfer window, but suffered cruciate ligament damage playing against Carlisle.
"The injury was shocking at the time but the rehab so far has gone as well as I think it could've gone," he said.
"This is the important part now where I can't go too far, too fast."
Blair has only made three appearances for Mansfield and said he was looking forward to a first-team return in the not too distant future.
"It will be a big day for me. It'll be one of those moments in life where you won't forget it," he added.
"After being out for seven months, to come back and even if it's just three minutes at the end [of a game] to waste some time for us to win a game it'll be a decent way to come back," he told the club website.
