Woking 2-1 Forest Green Rovers

Forest Green Rovers' 100% unbeaten start to the National League season was ended by Woking, who move to fourth in the table.

The Cards were ahead when John Goddard nodded home on the rebound after Jonny Maxted saved his first effort on goal.

The hosts doubled their lead when Jimmy Keohane fired home but Kurtis Guthrie pulled one back for the visitors.

Forest Green were reduced to 10 men deep into added time when Marcus Kelly picked up a second yellow card.

Woking boss Garry Hill told BBC Surrey:

"We've beaten them for the first time and we worked very hard and played very well tonight and it was a great advert for football. A great game to watch and it was a game we bossed for long periods.

"From late disappointments up at Guiseley on Saturday by conceding so late it was the ideal game to have. It wasn't a game we had to motivate the players for. Forest Green are a very good side they have experience and a good balance to the side.

"It's going to take one very strong team who are going to be more consistent then them to be above them come the end of the season."

Forest Green manager Ady Pennock told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"No complaints. I thought second half we were very good, we just needed a little bit of luck in front of goal, but we didn't half give it a go."

"It was too open in the first half, like a basketball game really, it was to and fro, we were attacking and they were attacking."

"I'm disappointed, obviously, with the goal we conceded in the first half, but I thought second half that just shows what a good side we are and I was very proud."
