Chester 1-1 Grimsby Town

Padraig Amond rescued a point for Grimsby Town with an stoppage-time equaliser against Chester.

The visitors had started well, forcing home keeper Jon Worsnop into a terrific save to deny Omar Bogle an opener.

Chester went in front 17 minutes from time from a penalty by Ross Hannah after the former Grimsby striker had been fouled by Gregor Robertson.

But Grimsby grabbed a point when Bogle set up Amond's close-range header in the fifth minute of injury time.

Grimsby Town manager Paul Hurst told BBC Radio Humberside:

"We showed good character to keep going. We upped our intensity level once we were behind and that's my only slight criticism to the players afterwards.

"Chester are going to feel hard done by because it was slightly over the initial four minutes, but there were a couple of fouls within that.

"It would have been extremely harsh on us if we left here with nothing."
