Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu has defended his goalscoring record for the Championship club.
The 26-year-old Austrian has scored 20 goals in 95 league and cup appearances since joining the Owls from Turkish side Eskisehirspor in July 2013.
"Criticism can be true and you have to accept it but sometimes it is not right," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"They have brought strikers in on loan and emergency loan and in the end nobody did better than me."
He continued: "I don't accept the criticism because nobody has come in and done better than I have.
"Carlos Carvalhal has been here only a few months and he trusts me and that makes me proud. I fought for it in pre-season."
The Owls are currently 15th in the Championship after five league games, but Nuhiu is confident they can make a push for promotion.
Boss Carvalhal signed 15 players in the summer and the striker believes once the team have gelled the results will improve.
"The competition we have now is higher than at any other time I have been here," he added.
"We have 15 new players so there can be misunderstandings, but I'm a positive person and I think if we can be sharp then we can do something. The quality is here for sure."
