Leicester City 2-1 West Ham United

Joe Dodoo and Aaron Cresswell
Leicester are unbeaten after eight matches in the Premier League and League Cup this season

Unbeaten Leicester ended West Ham's three-match winning run on the road to progress into the fourth round of the League Cup with an extra-time winner.

Hammers keeper Adrian produced several brilliant saves but Andy King's header with four minutes left won the match.

Twenty-year-old striker Joe Dodoo, who hit a hat-trick in the previous round, opened the scoring with a fine finish from 10 yards.

Mauro Zarate levelled midway through the first half with a 25-yard drive.

Slaven Bilic's Hammers have won all three of their Premier League away games this season - at Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City - but were beaten by a Foxes side sitting fourth in the table.

The tie looked destined for a penalty shootout until King guided a Christian Fuchs cross into the top corner.

It was rough luck on Adrian, who denied Jeff Schlupp and Riyad Mahrez, as Leicester dominated the final half-hour.

Earlier, Leicester academy product Dodoo steered home from 15 yards on his full home debut, before Zarate beat Mark Schwarzer with a 25-yard shot that deflected off defender Marcin Wasilewski.

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri:

"We made a fantastic performance. I think we made 10 great chances to score, their keeper was man of the match.

"I am very pleased, we were fantastic. We changed 10 players but they played at the same level. They're a great group and they work very hard. I'm very happy.

"Some of the players have not been used in the Premier League but I believe in them.

"I told them that I want to go through the rounds and I pick you to play because I believe you can win."

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic:

"He [Adrian] did brilliantly in the two one-on-one situations. He kept us in the game in extra time.

"They started better than us but then after that for the normal 90 minutes we were a bit better than them. But in extra time we started to get tired and when you concede a goal with four minutes left you are very disappointed.

"We are very disappointed because we approached this competition with the aim to win."
