George Hunter opened the scoring for the Diamonds after latching on to a good ball by David Cox to beat Sean Murdoch.
The home side kept plugging away in the search for an equaliser with Lewis Martin, Michael Moffat and Mickael Antoine-Curier all testing Neil Parry in the visitors' goal.
Moffat deservedly headed the sides level from an Andy Geggan cross.
