Scotland's Kim Little and Wales' Jess Fishlock have been named in the National Women's Soccer League team of the year.

The midfielders are among four Seattle Reign players to make the line-up.

It is the third consecutive season in which Fishlock, 28, has been listed in the best XI in the USA domestic league.

The 25-year-old Little, who scored a hat-trick as Scotland beat Slovenia 3-0 this week, makes the team for the second successive season.

The British duo are the only non-Americans to make the team.

Little, capped 108 times and who played for Hibernian, Arsenal and Great Britain before moving to the United States, has scored 10 times and contributed seven assists for Reign this season as they reached the NWSL Championship final against Kansas City, which takes place on 1 October.

She was the second-equal top scorer in the league table, behind Washington Spirit winger Crystal Dunn, 23, who is the youngest player in the team of the year thanks to her 15 goals.

Fishlock, who previously played for Cardiff City, Newport Strikers and Bristol Academy, scored eight goals this season.

The midfielder, capped 87 times for Wales, has in recent seasons also had loans spells with Glasgow City, Melbourne Victory and Frankfurt.

Fishlock, Little and Scotland defender Rachel Corsie will line-up for Seattle as they face Kansas in the Championship Game for the second successive season at Providence Park in Portland.

Kansas won last season's final 2-1 despite finishing the season 13 points adrift of Seattle in the league table.

Seattle have again finished top of the table, 10 points ahead of Chicago Red Stars, with Kansas a further point behind but making the final after a 3-0 semi-final play-off win over the second-placed side.
