Paul Tisdale: Exeter City manager says Plymouth were 'better team'

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale has admitted that Plymouth Argyle were the better team in their 2-0 Football League Trophy defeat at Home Park.

They have lost the last three meetings against their Devon rivals and they play again in League Two next month.

"We were just beaten by the better team," Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon.

"Whichever way you spin it we just weren't quite good enough in quite a few areas and that's not me being disparaging of the team."

He added: "I didn't see anybody shy of effort but in all areas I would've hoped we were a little bit better."

Exeter could also be without last season's player of the year Christian Ribeiro as they host Stevenage on Sunday.

"I'm hoping he's come through it," added Tisdale. "He was sore before the game and it'll be a double whammy if he's come on and made it worse, but I'll keep my fingers crossed."
