Crewe Alexandra 0-1 Gillingham

Rory Donnelly
Gillingham striker Rory Donnelly has scored in each of his last four matches

Rory Donnelly's dramatic goal in added time sent Gillingham to the top of the League One table as they beat struggling Crewe Alexandra.

Crewe almost took the lead when Brad Inman's shot was parried by Stuart Nelson and Adam King skied the rebound.

The visitors fought back and were almost rewarded when Jon Egan's strike was turned away by Ben Garratt.

As the match looked to finish goalless, Donnelly curled a shot in off the post to gift Gillingham all three points.

The result meant Gills moved to the top of League One after Walsall and Burton both lost, while Crewe remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
