League One

Bury 0-0 Rochdale

Bury v Rochdale
Bury have won just one of the last eight derby meetings with Rochdale

High-flying Bury extended their unbeaten run to 10 League One matches despite being held to a goalless draw by local rivals Rochdale.

The hosts started brightly as Nathan Cameron headed over before Leon Clarke and Tom Soares both had efforts saved.

Peter Vincenti had the visitors' best chance but he failed to convert Scott Tanser's cross.

Tom Pope headed over for Bury before Clarke was brilliantly denied late on by Josh Lillis as it ended all square.

Bury remain fourth in the table having been beaten just once in the league this season, while Rochdale drop to 10th after going three matches without a win.

Bury manager David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Manchester:

"It was scrappy, there wasn't a lot of fluency. It was a game where it was defragmented and broken up a lot.

"It was a game where both teams didn't want to lose it but we went on to try and win it at certain times.

"I just said to the players how we need improve and try and make it into a win. They want to progress and they want to win. There's a real willingness to win football matches."

Rochdale manager Keith Hill told BBC Radio Manchester:

"It could have gone either way, we had goalscoring opportunities and so did the opposition.

"Bury are obviously a good side, you look at the recruitment policy, the infrastructure, their investments, the desire to get automatic promotion.

"Even if they are trying to hide it, they can't hide it. You look at what's going on at the ground, the amount of sponsors they have, the players they've got."
