Connor Jennings scored his sixth goal of the season as Wrexham ended a six match winless run in the National League at Woking.

Jennings played a one-two with Dominic Vose before slotting past Jake Cole for his third goal in three games.

Woking were reduced to 10 men when Brian Saah was shown his second yellow card for a foul on Kayden Jackson.

The home side were refused a penalty after John Goddard fell under the challenge of substitute Jon Nolan.

Wrexham move up to ninth in the National League while Woking are 16th.

Woking midfielder John Goddard told BBC Surrey:

"We've had a real go today and we went down to 10 men and threw everything at them.

"I felt that I was brought down by the defender and it's a sucker punch for us and I am sure the referee will look at it and be disappointed.

"We've got to re-group. We have a really tough FA Cup game next weekend which is really important to us. There are fine lines at this level and you sometimes need the rub of the green and you would be looking a a different story today.

"It's not quite happening for us at the minute for whatever reason and we need to do a little more as individuals and pull together."

Wrexham manager Gary Mills told BBC Radio Wales: "That win was massive for us and one we're going to enjoy.

"It's been a long time coming. Early on you could probably see two teams that were nervous but it's three points for us going into a two week [league] break.

"We've taken four points from the last two games and that's better and we're still up there and not too far off the top."
