818: I don't know exactly how the co-efficient formula is constructed, [you can google the formula if interested] but seeds are from the UEFA national rankings: England 3rd, Republic 23rd, Wales 28th, Scotland 30th, NI 33rd.They're separate from FIFA rankings & factor in performance at previous tournaments: Euro 2012, WC 2014, as well as all the qualifying campaigns, hence the difference.
You cannot argue with his (Rooney's) record, including his experience. But (sorry)... he is not as quick as he used to be, neither does he seem(?) to have the same drive as Barkley for example. Thus I would opt for him in a central forward/midfield role behind, Sturridge, Barkley and Walcott. Kane coming on as an impact player. Carrick playing off and behind him and tying the defence together.
Oxlaide-chamberlain doesn't currently get into the best Arsenal first choice midfield . Gives the ball away too often, and then tends not to work hard enough to get it back . Walcott is learning the role , but as Shearer says , needs to be angrier when he misses , and not just accept it . Wilshere on his best form , yes , but because of injuries that only happens about 6 games per season .
how can you have a debate on who should play in a tournament that is 8 months away? as always it should depend on form and fitness not reputation so its too early to rule players in or out. might as well ask who will be starting line up for the 2062 wc will be.
Off topic but just saw the seeding for Euro 2016. Northern Ireland won their group impressively losing just 1 match and yet are bottom seeds? Croatia, Russia and Switzerland finished 2nd in their groups and are seeded in pot 2! Clearly Platini isn't the only one deserving of a ban...
Quite simply yes.Hart, Clyne, Bertrand, Stones, Jones, Dier, Barkley, Lallana, Rooney ,Oxlaide-Chamberlain and Walcott.
In life you deserve nothing. Wayne is a true professional who gels people around the team. However if he's not on his game he wont be picked. Give Roy Hodgson a bit of respect, if Wayne is on his game then pick him and play him. Lets hope he is available and fit so that he can add to his wonderfull goal scoring record.
Welbeck and wilshere? Pull the other one.
Raheem Sterling & Theo Walcott are what I hate about football. Very fast players, very direct but can't play the game, very poor passers, no understanding of tactics. £49 for Sterling is not looking remotely value for money and Theo Walcott is STILL 'developing' and showing 'promise' despite being 27 this season.
Not long left at OT now for Wayne.New young foreigner goal scorers at MUFC.If megastore consumers stop buying Rooney replicas then back to Goodison or Knowsley SP. Possibly follow Stevie G to USA at Miami for Beckham's team.
Rockin_Rog #786 England have left out their best striker in the past and still been successful. Greaves was better than Hurst, but its all about creating the best team and not just simply picking the best players.Rooney def ISN'T England's best striker, and Greaves was injured for World Cup Semi and Final so Hurst got No.9 role - did brilliantly - but never close to Greaves' goal-poaching.
Hart has bad dandruff...doesn't help, one thing about Wayne..he can take his wig off and wash it.
