Do you remember walking to the football with your mates, paying a tanner to stand behind the goal smelling that grass smell and watching your hero's in rain or shine. Having a beer during the game while able to see grass. At the end of the game getting into the posh stand to look for programmes that the posh lot just left behind.Just want to make sure it all wasn't just a dream
Arseen said today he was not scared to spend money, yeah right he is petrified, his failure to sign talent is there for everyone to see, this is why he has tried to hide behind having a bring through the young policy in the past, that way his lack of spotting talent is not in the spot light, Arseen has signed real gems in the past, Gervinho, Arseshaving, Bendtner...................CLASSIC
VERY misleading article title, "Most ticket prices frozen or reduced". The stats show half the tickets have stayed the same. that 18% have reduced and that a much larger 30% have increased. So would not a more accurate article title be "Most ticket prices frozen or increased". Seriously how much did the FA pay you off BBC, laughable.
Re:706Very true! But do the FA care?!
The trouble is top football teams are all about corporate, when I go to the Emirates its full of people who have been handed tickets or companies using season tickets to allow non football fans to have a jolly .The best example of all is the FA cup 25000 tickets for each team and 30000 for the jolly boys..it used to be for true fans now it's just a business perk handed out to anyone
A dream would be for clubs to really look to their community & offer 1st refusal to locals within a 10 mile radius on 10,000 seats at much reduced rates (say £10).Locals have until midweek to decide if they fancy a game at the weekend else tickets go on general sale. They can market it as investing in community spirit or something. Make a documentary, spin a book, start a Twitter feed. Sigh
I go to Borders non league now...don't actually enter till 5 past 3 in case I have to play...tell you what though , if you have something to shout everybody hears it, in a radius of about a mile and a half....£6 and a great laugh.
@700you mean all footballer players do the same thing do youplenty of honest pros out there, masses done for charities, huge taxes paid and pleasure on a weekly basis for millions of us but lets generalise in that lefty wayit suits an agendapersonally don't give a stuff about diving or feigning injuriy whatever that is,is that a rugbyism,if refs are weak then thats their issue
You can buy a season ticket at Bayern Munich for £104.48Arsenal again have the most expensive match-day ticket in the Premier League at £97And which one has more chance of winning the Champions League ?A good enough reason to attend the Munich Berr festi every year...
@697, Exactly; always tourists & the casuals. The PL is a marketing phenomenon of our time; texts will be written on how Sky took Englishness & gave it to the world. How billions got hooked & trillions rolled. It now belongs to all corners as much as kids growing up in the streets around clubs. Within 50 years clubs will franchise out across the globe. City are laying the seeds in NY already...
