Sheffield United have signed midfielder Dean Hammond on loan until January from Premier League club Leicester City.
The 32-year-old previously played under Blades boss Nigel Adkins during his time in charge of Southampton.
"I cannot speak highly enough of him as a player and a person, he sets high standards both on and off the pitch," Adkins told the club website.
Hammond could make his United debut in their League One game against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday.
He has played more than 450 matches during his career, but only once for Leicester this season, in a 4-1 League Cup win over Bury in August.
