Boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was full of praise for his Burton Albion players despite their winless run stretching to three games after a 0-0 draw at home to bottom-of-the-table Crewe Alexandra.
The Brewers lost to Fleetwood Town and Walsall in their previous two games, but remain third in League One
Hasselbaink told BBC Radio Derby: "The boys were extremely disappointed because it feels like a loss.
"I will have to bring them back up, but they should not feel down after this."
Albion dominated the game, but were unable to break the deadlock, and have now failed to score in each of their last three matches.
"We played really well with intensity and purpose and we got in behind them and made it difficult for them," the former Chelsea and Leeds United striker added.
"It wasn't meant to be, but I am very proud of them. On another day we win 3-0. There were a lot of plusses.
"The players should be should be happy and proud and be looking for the next game."
