Karl Robinson: MK Dons manager angered by 'lethargic' display

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson says his side's performance in the 2-0 defeat by Huddersfield was well below standard.

Both Terriers goals came from defensive errors as the Dons lost their seventh game in nine in all competitions.

"We were awful, we were sloppy, we were lethargic, our pressing was poor, large parts of our game weren't acceptable," he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"We have to take responsibility for the defeat. I can pick anybody on Saturday and nobody can knock on my door."

Robinson's side beat Blackburn on Saturday to win for the first time since August, but dropped to 18th in the Championship following Tuesday's defeat in Yorkshire.

"I have to take responsibility as well, don't think that this is a finger-pointing," said Robinson. "This is a group saying 'we weren't good enough tonight'.

"Sometimes you have those evenings and sometimes you nick a point. Sometimes we can massage egos and build them up and say we played well - I'm not going to say that because we didn't play well.

"This is where I'm lucky - I've got a tremendous group and every single one of them held their hands up and said 'gaffer, we weren't good enough today'.

"We can't come away with anything that we can look at and say 'that was good'."
