Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale hailed his injury-hit side after they beat Cambridge United 1-0 in League Two.

The Grecians had a number of players including Ryan Harley, Troy Brown, Matt Oakley and Alex Nicholls missing.

"We were a depleted squad, but the players that started the game committed completely to their performance," Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon.

"The major player for us was the team, everyone committed to the same level, we had no pushovers in the side."

The victory was just Exeter's second in seven League Two games and sent them back into the top half of the table, two points outside the play-off places.

"Everyone committed and pulled for each other and it was a really good performance," Tisdale added.

"The ball seemed to drop for us at times, but it's amazing how that seems to happen when you're fully committed and you're aggressive to the bouncing ball.

"I was delighted with the team and everyone worked incredibly hard."
