Sam Allardyce has named Paul Bracewell as his new assistant at Sunderland.
Ex-England midfielder Bracewell moves from being first-team coach, a role which will now be filled by Under-21s boss Robbie Stockdale.
Former Hartlepool midfielder Mark Taylor has also been brought in as the club's new performance director.
Allardyce, 61, was appointed at the Premier League's bottom club earlier this month, following the departure of Dick Advocaat.
The former West Ham manager said of Taylor's arrival at the Stadium of Light: "Areas such as sports science and performance analysis are absolutely crucial in the modern game.
"Mark has a tremendous amount of experience and expertise in these key disciplines and he will help us to ensure that our players reach their maximum potential."
