Southend United 2-2 Rochdale

Rochdale came from behind to earn their fourth draw in a row, as Southend United let a two-goal lead slip.

The Shrimpers took the lead through a David Mooney penalty, after Ryan Leonard was brought down in the box by Rochdale keeper Josh Lillis.

A low shot by Leonard made it 2-0 but Dale got back into the game when Joe Bunney's deflected volley went in.

Michael Rose equalised with a 25-yard free-kick and Calvin Andrew was denied a late Dale winner by Daniel Bentley.

Rochdale manager Keith Hill told BBC Radio Manchester:

"I put a lot of trust in the players, a lot of belief in the players and that first-half performance was rancid.

"It looked as though we hadn't been doing anything all week except probably playing cards or tiddlywinks.

"The players are not putting into practice what we worked on during the week.

"At times in the first half if I was a supporter watching Rochdale, I probably would have gone home. That is a sad reflection on me and my time at this club."
