Highlights: Didcot 0-3 Exeter

Exeter City booked their place in the second round of the FA Cup with victory over Southern League Division One South & West side Didcot Town.

The League Two club lost to Northern Premier Division One side Warrington Town at this stage last season.

There was to be no repeat as Clinton Morrison chipped them ahead before Tom Nichols and Alex Nicholls tapped in.

Didcot, the lowest ranked team in round one, saw Bobby Olejnik tip James Organ's shot on to the bar late on.

The home side, of the eighth tier, were playing in round one of the FA Cup for the first time but they were well beaten.

Exeter had the better of the first half and went close when Didcot keeper Leigh Bedwell tipped away Jamie McAllister's curling shot.

But they took the lead early in the second half when veteran striker Morrison clipped a shot over Bedwell and in off the bar from 15 yards.

Nichols netted the second from close range after Bedwell had tipped David Wheeler's header on to the bar, before Nicholls tapped in substitute Joel Grant's cross.

Exeter's victory was only their third in the FA Cup in boss Paul Tisdale's nine years in charge at St James' Park.
