Match ends, Port Vale 1, Maidenhead United 1.
National League South side Maidenhead United scored a 94th-minute equaliser against League One side Port Vale to set up an FA Cup first round replay.
The hosts had an early chance to take the lead but midfielder Colin Daniel fired the ball over the crossbar.
Vale broke the deadlock on the half hour when Byron Moore latched on to Louis Dodds' through ball to fire home.
But Maidenhead fought back to forced a replay with an equaliser through James Mulley's injury-time strike.
It capped a hard-working performance from the visitors, who lie 62 places and three leagues below Vale.
Port Vale took the lead when Dodds' superb long ball caught out the visitors' back line and Moore coolly slotted the ball home.
Dave Tarpey went close to finding a leveller but his right-footed effort from outside the box sailed just wide.
But Maidenhead boss Alan Devonshire, who won the FA Cup as a player with West Ham in 1980, saw his side come back to earn a replay when Mulley found the target after Vale failed to clear.
Port Vale manager Rob Page:
"Me and my coaching staff couldn't have been any clearer in our instructions through the week.
"Maidenhead had won their last six games and were unbeaten in eight. Our very clear message was not to underestimate them. It's unprofessionalism at the end of the day.
"Some of our players were a bit arrogant and the second-half performance was totally unacceptable all round.
"The only positive we can take is the fact we are in the hat for the second round draw."
Maidenhead boss Alan Devonshire:
"We got what we deserved and I can't praise the lads highly enough.
"We've got a young, part-time side, but their spirit and character is unbelievable. They kept going right to the end and got their just desserts.
"Vale were trying to keep the ball in the corners in the last 15 to 20 minutes and that showed how well our lads were playing. I'm not singling anyone out because every one of them was fantastic.
"Football fans aren't stupid and we appreciated the reception we got from the Vale supporters at the end. It was a nice gesture and of course well deserved."
