Inverness manager John Hughes will not be in the dugout against Motherwell on Saturday after being given a touchline ban by the Scottish FA.

The suspension is in relation to comments Hughes made in the aftermath of a 1-1 draw with Dundee in August.

The SFA ruled Hughes breached disciplinary rules with comments made to the media relating to the performance of referee Andrew Dallas.

Hughes will get another one-game ban in the event of further breach this term.

The disciplinary tribunal judged that Hughes had contravened rule 72 in that he, during interviews with the written press, "criticised the performance of the match referee in such a way as to indicate incompetence on his part".

The Caley Thistle boss admitted the charge, although was cleared on another charge relating to comments made in a television interview after the same match.
