Chesterfield 1-2 Oldham Athletic

Oldham preserved their unbeaten away league record as Danny Philliskirk struck a late winner at Chesterfield.

The home side led when Sylvan Ebanks-Blake fired in from 10 yards after Dan Jones' cross deflected into his path.

The visitors rarely threatened until Carl Winchester's drive was saved by Tommy Lee after the break.

The Latics then turned the game on its head as Dominic Poleon followed up to score at the far post and Philliskirk squeezed a shot under Lee.

Dunn on Oldham v Chesterfield

Oldham manager David Dunn told BBC Radio Manchester:

"I'm delighted, especially with the second half performance, it was very good. The commitment, the desire they showed in the second half was great. The first half was a bit up and down.

"We knew we were much better than what we showed first half, I thought the biggest word I could use would be urgency, we didn't really show that much.

"I didn't think what we were doing was really working. We recognised that and changed it a little bit and I thought the subs changed the game.

"Honestly in the second half, once we'd scored the first goal, I thought we were the only team that was going to win"

Chesterfield manager Dean Saunders:

"We didn't play our normal style of football and our passing game, but that was partly down to the conditions which were dreadful and the game was bordering on nearly being called off at one point.

"It was difficult for both teams, but I thought we could grind the result out - but we've given them the game really.

"The first goal came from our throw-in to make it 1-1 and then there was the mistake at the end from Tommy.

"But he's got us so many points this season so I'm not going to criticise him. It was a routine save and the ball just squirmed through his legs because of the weather and we never had time to get any momentum up to get an equaliser."
