Cowdenbeath made it four games unbeaten with a convincing victory over bottom club Brechin.
Dean Brett gave the home side the lead with a 10th-minute penalty after Brechin defender Ross Perry handled in the area.
Aldin El-Zubaidi doubled the lead when he placed a clever finish beyond goalkeeper Graeme Smith, before Greig Spence secured the points late on.
Cowdenbeath are now just a point off sixth-placed Forfar.
