The Warriors lost Jamie Barclay after a dangerous tackle near 30 minutes.
Forfar made their numerical advantage count as Iain Campbell's first-half penalty and Danny Denholm's strike had them 2-0 up on 51 minutes.
But Colin McMenamin clawed one back before veteran striker Jason Scotland's 85th-minute spot-kick ensured a share of the points.
