Stuart McColm's late strike gave Annan victory as they moved five points clear of the chasing pack in League Two.
McColm fired high into the net in the 82nd minute to ensure John Coughlin remains without a win as Rangers boss.
Rangers had first-half chances, with David Banjo heading wide before Michael McKenna and Finn Graham were denied by Annan goalkeeper Jordan Hart.
Former Annan striker Henderson was then foiled by the imperious Hart before McColm's goal settled matters.
