Derby County defender Stephen Warnock insists the defeat at Nottingham Forest will not affect their confidence.

The Rams saw their 10-match unbeaten run end with a below-par display against their bitter rivals on Friday.

But Warnock told BBC Radio Derby: "These are the things that will make us better as a team.

"We need to stick together. We've been on a great run. We feel we should win most games. That is not being arrogant, that is just believing in ourselves."

Warnock said although is seemed "daft", the loss to a struggling Forest side who had not won in eight matches could help them in the long term.

"We need to stick together and not get carried away with being beaten," said Warnock. "We have lost two games in 16 and if we do that again we will probably be top of the league.

"We have to go back on a run."
