Altrincham v Barnsley: FA Cup winner missed by Alty boss
Altrincham manager Lee Sinnott says he missed their FA Cup winner against Barnsley on Saturday as he was still in the dressing room after half-time.
The National League side knocked out a Tykes outfit who sit 45 places above them after Damian Reeves pounced on a rebound on 46 minutes.
The win means Alty are into the second round for the first time since 2001.
"I missed the goal, I was still in the dressing room looking at my notes," 50-year-old Sinnott told BBC Sport.
"Our dressing rooms are underneath the main stand, and Barnsley had a lot of supporters here, so when the roar went up I wasn't too sure if we'd scored or Barnsley had scored."
The victory has netted the Robins £18,000 in prize money and chairman Grahame Rowley plans to invest back into the non-league club.
"The whole week, the lead up to it, the people who are phoning up every day, there was just the whole buzz around the place," he told BBC Radio Manchester.
"It's just superb, it really is. It's great for the club and great for the town.
"The prize money means a lot, to be honest, because you've got so many plans to further the club doing things around the place - it will make it so much easier to build the club up."
