Barnet 0-0 Morecambe

Mid-table Barnet and Morecambe played out a goalless draw at The Hive.

The visitors should have taken the lead when Tom Barkhuizen put his shot too close to home keeper Jamie Stephens after he was played in by Paul Mullin.

Barkhuizen did have the ball in the net later in the first half only to be denied by an offside flag.

The Bees improved after the break but Barry Roche saved from Josh Clarke and John Akinde smashed a shot over the bar after being played through on goal.

Barnet manager Martin Allen told BBC Radio London:

"We had a couple of opportunities but it wasn't to be.

"From our point of view it's a clean sheet, it's another point on the board, and clean sheets are always a positive.

"The players have turned big corners to turn good performances into points, and there were some good points to the game and perhaps there could have been some improvements in the final third."
