Match ends, Chester FC 1, Woking 2.
Woking ended their six-game winless run with a surprise victory at Chester.
The visitors led on 15 minutes from Dan Holman's fifth goal in seven games from debutant Joe Quigley's cross.
Chester came close to an equaliser when James Roberts shot straight at keeper Jake Cole, but Jimmy Keohane raced away and crossed for John Goddard's 10th goal of the season in the 90th minute.
Ross Hannah headed in Craig Hobson's cross in the sixth minute of injury time for a consolation for the hosts.
Chester remain 13th. now just a point ahead of Woking, who have climbed to just one place behind them after bouncing back from last weekend's 5-2 home defeat by Macclesfield.
Woking boss Garry Hill told BBC Surrey:
"It was a great win and important and it's been tough over the last few weeks and we've been low on confidence. We've seen some some signs of encouragement and all of a sudden with such a young team we had a little bit of luck today.
"I thought the whole team showed what you want. You can accept getting beat and not that you like it but you ask your players to turn around and give you everything they've got.
"We've been letting our supporters down and letting everyone down with the standards that we've been showing and we mustn't get carried away. It's a big encouraging win for us."
