Paris St-Germain paid tribute to the victims of the attacks in the French capital at their first game since the tragedy.
Players from PSG and hosts Lorient stood for a minute's silence while children released doves in honour of the 130 people killed last week.
PSG beat Lorient thanks to first-half goals from Hervin Ongenda and Blaise Matuidi.
Ligue 1 top scorer Benjamin Moukandjo reduced the arrears late on.
PSG chairman and chief executive Nasser Al Khelaifi said: "First of all, I would like to say that I was very moved by the tragic events in Paris last week.
"Tonight we played as a tribute to the victims of those attacks.
"Football must go on. We were here to show France's solidarity, that of Paris and the world.
"It was important to play. It wasn't easy, but life continues, everything can't stop here.
"The players, the coaching staff, everyone feels the same, everyone was affected by what happened.
"It was really, very difficult for us, especially for Paris."
The capital side have 38 points from 14 games and lead second-placed Olympique Lyonnais, who slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Nice on Friday, by a massive 13 points after a routine win.
The win was another step towards a fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title for PSG while Lorient stayed seventh on 20 points.
PSG fans were not be allowed to attend the game, after the Interior Minister banned all away supporters this weekend as a security measure.
Elsewhere, Mario Pasalic's goal earned Monaco a 1-0 victory over Nantes while Guingamp beat second-from-bottom Toulouse 2-0.
Montpellier made it five games unbeaten with a 3-1 defeat of a Reims side in freefall as they lost their sixth straight match.
Troyes remain winless following a 1-1 draw with Lille who were playing their first game following the sacking of coach Herve Renard.
