Leyton Orient 1-1 AFC Wimbledon

Striker Adebayo Akinfenwa earned AFC Wimbledon a point with a late header as they came from behind against 10-man Leyton Orient.

Jay Simpson gave Orient an early lead when he ran onto John Marquis' through ball and finished past Ben Wilson.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men when Marquis was shown a second yellow card for a foul on the Dons' Paul Robinson.

Wimbledon stole a point late on when Adebayo Adeez floated a cross into the box which Akinfenwa nodded home.

Leyton Orient manager Ian Hendon told BBC Radio London:

"You've got to give credit to Wimbledon, they've come here and worked hard and towards the end of the first half we were camped in a bit.

"They had a few set-plays and balls in the box but I thought the boys at the back dealt with that quite well.

"I've got to give credit to the players, they were under huge amounts of pressure and defended very well."

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley told BBC Radio London:

"Forget the sending off, I think from about the 20 or 25th minute on it was us that was the better team.

"We started the second half brilliantly again on the front foot, it was all us and then the sending off sometimes can make it harder because they just sat in at that point and we just had to keep going.

"I can't fault the boys, they were the better team and they've done everything they can to win the game but just found a couple of obstacles in the way."
