Match ends, Grimsby Town 1, Kidderminster Harriers 0.
Grimsby extended their impressive run of form to one defeat in 18 games with victory over Kidderminster Harriers.
The first half was one of few chances as Dave Hockaday's visitors showed their defensive capabilities.
Grimsby improved after the break as Padraig Amond connected with Conor Townsend's cross, only to be denied by a save from Dean Snedker.
But the Harriers could not hold on as Townsend crossed into the box for Amond to head home the winner.
Kidderminster's defeat sees them slip to the bottom of the National League, eight points behind fourth-from-bottom Boreham Wood, while Grimsby climb to third.
Grimsby boss Paul Hurst told BBC Radio Humberside:
"Conditions were very difficult, it was never going to be pretty but there's a hell of a lot of teams would swap there result for ours today.
"A clean sheet as well, half-way stage of the season now, a good points total, we're tucked in nicely and now a little break with a cup game to look forward too.
"We're not in the time of the season now were if we get a couple of injuries or a bit of illness like we've had this week. Scott Brown was ill and Danny East wasn't available today through illness but there's nothing you can do."
