Jack Muldoon's second-half equaliser earned Lincoln a point against Welling.
The visitors took the lead late on in the first half when Reece Harris drilled his shot past Lincoln keeper Paul Farman inside the area.
Lincoln drew level when Muldoon's long-range effort flew past visiting keeper Tom King and into the net.
Both sides pushed for a winner, with Welling's Kieron St Aimie foiled by Farman and Mathew Sparrow hitting the post late on for Lincoln.
Lincoln City manager Chris Moyses told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:
"The amount of play we had in the second half and the chances we created, I felt we'd easily done enough to win the game but we've got to be more clinical.
"At the end of the day it's the first point we've ever had against Welling so that's a positive and credit to them, they never gave up and stuck to their task.
"We were naive, we got caught out four against two with 30 seconds to go to half time and we should close it out but you live and learn.
"It was one of those days but you get those and maybe a year ago we might have got beaten, but we've come away with a point."
