Defender Andrew Hughes said he "felt good" after making his first Newport County start in 11 months.
Hughes suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Stevenage in December, 2014.
The 23-year-old played the full 90 minutes as John Sheridan's side drew 0-0 against Yeovil Town in League Two on Saturday.
"I've been looking forward to this day," Hughes said.
Hughes made his comeback in a reserve team game against Swindon and returned to the first-team as a substitute in the FA Cup first round replay win over Brackley Town.
"Fitness wise I wasn't struggling one bit and it was just a case of trying to find my feet and get back to what I was doing before," Hughes added.
"I've been back training fully for two months and it's not as if I've been thrown in at the deep end.
"I had faith in myself and obviously the gaffer had faith in me too, putting me in."
