Sheffield United 1-0 Oldham Athletic

Matt Done's second-half goal earned 10-man Sheffield United their passage into the FA Cup third round at the expense of Oldham.

The winger's strike came two minutes after the break when he lifted the ball over keeper David Cornell.

The Blades were down to 10 in the 67th minute when Che Adams was shown red after appearing to push Latics skipper Liam Kelly in the face.

Danny Philliskirk went closest for Oldham with a shot that hit the post.

The draw for the FA Cup third round is live on Monday from 19:00 GMT on BBC Two.

David Dunn: Oldham boss on Sheffield United defeat

"I think everything we asked of them they produced, other than the result. I thought we were very good for the majority of the game, other than a sloppy goal to give away.

"I thought for large spells of the game we were in charge and looked confident. If we carry on playing like that, we'll climb the table.

"We've set the standard, it's important that we carry on doing that. We can't be doing that one week and then having a real dip the next. Now we really need to kick on and put the performances in."
