Ipswich Town: Championship side turn £5.3m profit

Ipswich Town
Ipswich are currently seventh in the Championship

Championship side Ipswich Town have made a profit for the first time since Marcus Evans bought the club in 2007.

The club made a pre-tax profit of £5.3m from the 12 months before 30 June 2015, helped by the sales of defenders Aaron Cresswell and Tyrone Mings to West Ham and Bournemouth respectively.

That compares to a loss of £7.2 million over the previous 12 months.

Ipswich will move into the play-off places if they defeat Middlesbrough at Portman Road on Friday.
